Founded in 2006, Hopscotch Fitness has helped hundreds of people change their lives.

We believe through education and training, people can live a happier and healthier life.

Fitness should be fun and challenging, it should be simple, yet complex when needed. The philosophy of Hopscotch Fitness is taking a holistic approach towards health and fitness. We educate our clients using functional training, well balanced nutrition, the right amount of rest and recovery (including sleep) as well as how to manage the stress around you. This allows you to live a fuller life, to be able to do what you want in your every day life with little or no effort or injuries. No matter what your goals are, Hopscotch Fitness can cater for you, guide you along your way and educate as we grow together.

Hopscotch Fitness encompasses a wealth of knowledge and experience including exposure to working overseas in London and learning variety of different techniques, training methods and testing. Attention to detail and relentless effort to keep growing and learning about health and fitness sets Hopscotch Fitness apart from its competitors.

In 2015, we opened our first boutique studio in Burwood in which we also offer Myotherapy and Remedial massage. We see these two services as a perfect match, as it compliments our training to ensure our bodies are in good working order. Tightness of muscles can cause imbalances in the body and can lead to pain or injury. It’s important to look after your body both physically and mentally!

Wiki Yu

Co-Owner, Head Coach

Unlike many other trainers, Wiki has experience in working in the corporate environment. She understands the issues of time constraints, and work/life demands placed on the everyday worker. This understanding has made her ever-more passionate about helping people find a ‘work/life balance’, strengthening their bodies through postural correction and reaching their fitness goals through training and diet; be it strength, flexibility or general toning.

Why do I do what I do?
“The answer is simple: my passion is in health and fitness.

I love learning about the body and passing on my knowledge to others. I love changing lives in a positive way through exercises and a healthy lifestyle. So in 2006, after four years of working in the corporate sector, I decided to take on personal training full time and I’ve never looked back.

Like many, I have been involved in the fitness industry from a young age, playing sports such as basketball and badminton, lifting weights and hitting the track. Through the years, I have also trained in different martial arts disciplines such kick boxing, karate, taekwondo and muay thai. In the last 7 years I’ve been playing Australian Rules Football; playing for the Eastern Devils. Being involved in these sports also requires an awareness of one’s body, the way it works and how to improve to produce better results.

In 2008, I traveled across to the UK where I trained at the exclusive Matt Roberts Gym in Hampstead, London. Helping set up the gym from scratch. I also had the opportunity to learn from some of the top personal trainers in the UK with a strong emphasis on postural assessment and correction exercises as well as learning techniques to help clients recover from and prevent further injuries.

I take a holistic approach to training as not just about exercise, it’s about creating healthy habits both in and out of the gym that are easily incorporated into daily life. For each client, I design a program tailored to his/her individual needs and goals. Each client I work with has different needs and personal goals, and the best part of my job is being able to help people change their lives in a positive way.

Louise Spindler

Co-Owner, Head Myotherapist

Louise is our full time Myotherapist & Remedial Massage Therapist at Hopscotch Fitness. She is passionate about helping people out of pain and discomfort caused by stress and the physical demands people place on their body’s day in day out. She utilises various soft tissue techniques when treating musculoskeletal conditions. Dry needling, massage, myofascial release and stretching are a few of the techniques used during treatment.

Louise has been recognised by the Collingwood AFLW team for providing myotherapy to their athletes throughout the 2017 season. By aiding recovery from games and training, injury prevention and ensuring their bodies are ready to go on game day, the Collingwood athletes are always on top of their game.

Unlike less experienced myotherapists Louise has been working with high level athletes for many years helping them to achieve their sporting goals.

Our athletes love the pain relief we provide, self management tools and having the confidence to give 110% on game day without fear of injury. Our knowledgable advice, industry experience and continuing care ensures our athletes are always prepared and ready to kick their goals.

Louise likes to keep active and has been playing women’s footy for the Eastern Devils (AFL) since 2008. She also enjoys strength training in the gym as she has found being consistent with strength training reduces pain by increasing stability around joints.

Louise also has a background in commercial building facilities management giving her exposure to the corporate environment, managing trades & services, tenants and building owners. This gives her a good understanding of various people from various backgrounds. She has treated a large variety of clients including athletes, corporate workers, tradies and new mums. She believes postural awareness, strength training and movement practices are important for healthy muscles, connective tissues and bone density.

She encourages all of her clients to participate in training and to be aware of their posture.
