I joined Hopscotch Fitness because I wanted to build up my energy levels and general fitness. The trainers took it slow and were happy to work within my limits. What is great about the trainers at Hopscotch is that they keep pushing me to do the exercises correctly! My main reservations before starting personal training were about my ability to make the changes I needed to get fit, and my ability to regularly make the sessions. So far I’ve had significant improvements in back / neck pain, mobility and my underlying fitness.

My top goal was to improve my lower back problems. I'd sorted it out with physio and a home training app previously but after a serious shoulder injury I gave everything up and needed some expert guidance and encouragement. Second and overall goal was to improve my strength, fitness and confidence, and to give me a safe basis for continuing bodyweight training at home, as I now know my technique was awful with the app and no one to steer me in the right direction. I love the mix of seriousness and social atmosphere at Hopscotch. I feel welcome every time I step through the door and I feel great when I leave. I think my top achievement has been that I've become so much more aware of my posture. My back is feeling stronger and there's very little pain these days because of the core work I've been doing too. I'm so thankful about how well and carefully I've been steered through training before and especially since my shoulder surgery. I think the prehab work we did helped with the recovery, and the exercises we've been doing while the arm is out of action are nicely varied and have all been beneficial. I also think the guidance I've had had helped me stay motivated to keep up the physio's daily rehab exercises. I reckon had I not been to Hopscotch I would have been so much lazier and more haphazard about it!

My goals before starting PT was to improve posture and strength. Wiki is always ready to answer all the questions I have and helps break down each exercise to make sure I understand what I’m doing. She makes each session fun! Wiki has been really encouraging and motivating. I’ve been able to see some real improvement with her help and it has been easy to stick to training. My top achievement so far has been waking up at 5am twice a week and actually doing the training! 😁

2024 - ** Update ** Yes! I'm still training at Hopscotch Fitness after 5 years. The team is terrific and absolute specialists. I've just taken part in the Menopause Training group - and it was fantastic. I've attended both small group training and individual sessions and I'm the fittest I've ever been. Thankyou++ 2019 Review I love coming here for the personal training! Best personal trainer in Melbourne! Wiki is an extremely experienced personal trainer and our sessions are always fun, challenging and dynamic. She absolutely knows her stuff and how to tailor exercises for individual needs. She's also super knowledgeable about many different aspects of health including nutrition and personal development. Highly recommend if you're looking for a personal traininer or some great small group training sessions too. Highly recommend Louise for myotherapy - she's the best myotherapist in Melbourne. I always feel soooo much more aligned, less sore, and relaxed after seeing her. Highly recommend!! She's definitely worth all the amazing reviews and recommendations that I've read in other forums too (that's how I found Louise.)

Amanda has been great in finding that balance between pushing and being mindful of my base fitness level, so that's awesome! I did have some reservations about the early mornings… But happy to report I've come around to it and am actually liking the extra time I get on days when I don't have training :) You were able to get me back into the routine of exercising and learn to prioritise my health… and get fit enough to not feel apprehensive about movement all the time. I'm loving that exercise is now in my routine and I'm excited to keep going and get to the next level of fitness in '24.

Callan greeted me and did thorough assessment before remedial massage to my back. Loosened things up nicely 👍🏻

A clean and organised studio in the back blocks of the light commercial area showing its roots with a datto 1600 in next door's parking area and a Penrite sticker on what I'd assume is the fuse box; The therapist was helpful and efficient. I opted for a remedial massage, targeting the areas I'd been struggling with, and a 'pay for it now, enjoy it later' approach. It worked spectacularly well, working out the niggles I'd had for months. Highly recommend.

Wiki is an amazing Personal Trainer. I am time poor, didn't have any kind of fitness regime and didn't know where to start. I love Wiki's holistic approach to health and fitness. She explained the importance of nutrition, water and sleep and formulated a simple exercise program for me to begin with. She also showed me carefully how to do each step correctly and made my healthy goal more simplified and achievable. I would definitely recommend her.

Just had an excellent remedial massage with Elise. She hit all the kinks and knots with the perfect amount of pressure. Highly recommended.

Stretch Small Group Training FAQ’s

Group stretch training sessions are where the mobility magic happens! With our small group sessions, you’ll be in a supportive and motivating space that will kick your stretching game into high gear.

Who can benefit from mobility training?

Simply put – everyone! If you have muscles, you need to stretch! 🙂

Maybe you:

  • Work in a busy & stressful job
  • Spend a lot of time sitting in from of a computer
  • Experience reoccurring, niggling injuries
  • Have lower back, hip or shoulder pain
  • Working towards building muscle or cardio fitness
  • Play sport at a competitive level

If any of these sound like you, maybe it’s time to consider our small group mobility movement training sessions.

Do I also need to train with Hopscotch Fitness?

You don’t need to be training with us in our 1 on 1 personal training or semi private training sessions to join us in our Group Stretching classes.

So, if you’re ready to get started, contact us now.

How many stretch training sessions do I need?

Our group stretch training sessions are casual. This means you can join us as much or as little as you need. We do it this way to support you with where you’re at and what you’re trying to achieve.

Do I need stretch training if I already do PT?

Stretching and mobility is a fundamental component of ALL training regimes, regardless of whether you’re already training with Hopscotch Fitness.

So, when you train in our 1 on 1 personal training or semi private small group training sessions, we do run you through some stretching and mobility movements before and after your sessions. However, as there is only 45 minutes in your training sessions, we want you to get the most out of each workout. And so, we already recommend you do your own stretching outside of these sessions too.

BUT, if you’re looking for more to help get the most out of your strength and cardio training, then group stretch classes are a perfect way to complement this on your overall health journey.

Can I join a stretch group training if I have a pre-existing injury?

Yes of course. We always recommend you consult with your healthcare provider before starting any new training if you have a pre-existing injury or medical condition. But, in most cases we are able to adapt your training session to suit your ability and any specific needs.

In fact, a lot of the time, spending dedicated time on your stretching (the right way) will help improve existing injuries and niggles, AND help reduce the risk of future injuries.

If you are suffering from any injuries or pain-points, you can also try our Myotherapy or Remedial Massage treatments to compliment your injury management.
